The State Secretary of the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Science and Health, Nicole Steingaß, visited the LIR on 7 March 2025 to find out what prevention services for mental illnesses the institute already offers and what innovative treatment options are currently being researched..

For this purpose, Prof. Dr. Marianne Müller and Prof. Dr. Til Ole Bergmann presented the Leibniz ScienceCampus ‘NanoBrain’. The team of experts combines outstanding expertise in the field of nanomedicine and mRNA technology with translational stress and resilience research. The team is researching the latest methods to overcome the blood-brain barrier for new therapeutics and to deliver substances based on mRNA technology to the brain in a targeted manner for the prevention and treatment of depression. Further information on the ScienceCampus can be found here.

The LIR transfer team, represented by Rosa Horneff, Sandra Lenz and Meike Trommer, presented the LIR's programmes for strengthening personal health skills and developing strategies for coping with stress and promoting resilience. One such option is the LIR Employee Assistance Programme (EAP). This is a holistic and needs-oriented resilience promotion programme that serves to sustainably promote the mental health and resilience of employees and managers. Further information on promoting resilience in organisations can be found here.
